Behind The Palin Pull Out

Sarah Palin is pulling back from her post-election media spree by withdrawing from CPAC, a move that can only help her if she wants a national political role.

Palin's pull out CPAC is striking because it represents a break in her media modus operandi, which has been to make waves every month since the election. In November she attacking backbiting staffers from the presidential campaign; in December she campaigned for Saxby Chambliss in Georgia; in January she attacked the press for allegedly calling her daughter a high school dropout, slammed election coverage in a conservative film and even responded to an attack from Ashley Judd.

By pulling out of CPAC she guarantees February will be relatively quiet. With continual attention from August to January, Palin courted overexposure, but looks to be avoiding it this month. She's facing criticism in her own state for paying too much attention to her national image, and she wants to rectify that.

Palin did not appear in public solidarity with her party's congressional leadership during the stimulus fight, but had a behind-the-scenes dinner with Sen. Mitch McConnell. Palin's only reaction to the stimulus was a short statement last week saying she supported Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Rep. Don Young's votes against the bill.

Palin doesn't need CPAC: conservatives largely support her and there will be three more conferences before the Republican nomination is decided. John McCain was absent from recent conferences and won the nomination anyway. Palin has seemingly decided she needs a lower profile and doesn't need to mix it up with Obama during his honeymoon.

Palin and under-exposure?? She may lay low but that will not erase her image of 'all talk but no substance' from the minds of democrats and independents. Americans do not want a female version of Bush after last two terms full of disasters.

By the way, if Tom Daschel had to withdraw because he did not pay taxes on the limo service provided to him then why is Palin still the governor if she also did not pay taxes for per-diem she received for spending time at home?

Smart move. Palin needs to just stay in Alaska and govern. Nothing else she does now can help her win the 2012 presidential nomination. Obama is a wildly popular figure, and Palin looks very small juxtaposed against him right now.

Indeed a smart move. Smart enough to help her get a nomination, but certainly no where close to enough to win an election. She's too repulsive to too many people.

I suppose it was too much to ask that she would disappear into the Arctic wilderness and be eaten by polar bears or something. Sigh.

Sarah Palin is more like another Ronald Reagan. And she will be our next President. Rarely do you find so many admirable qualities in one person. Sarah Palin is beautiful and intelligent, a woman of strong moral character, genuine in her faith, and strong and gracious in the face of unprincipled attempts to disparage and defame her. Combined with these qualities, her charisma and star power will take her over the finish line ahead of any contenders in 2012.

I'm betting that her SarahPAC couldn't raise the money for the trip. The TeamSarah PAC raised exactly $0.00 before they were finally closed. Also, interesting that she pulled out when Talis quit. Maybe she doesn't want to answer press questions about the AG.

They've probably muzzled Palin so she can shop her book deal. No publisher is going to sign her the way she was going before (unless she's looking to publish a humor book).

Fay... you know those drugs cause permanent dain bramage don't you :-)

Enough cheap shots. They are not worth dignifying with a response. Sarah Palin is the governor of a large state. I'm sure she has many pressing commitments. It's unfair to place the cancellation under a microscope and use it as an excuse to sneer at a talented leader with an eighty percent approval rating in her state.

Our manly president has his Oval Office thermostat set at 78 degrees. His staff has complained that you could grow orchids in there!

Governor Sarah Palin relishes the brisk Alaskan winter. Sarah wants to help keep all Americans warm by shipping ANWR oil as soon as possible.

Our wondrous leader tells us that the "pristine" wilderness is more important than you all! You can freeze while he languishes in tropical heat.

Didn't I once hear that the boss’s room temperature in HELL is 78?

Sarah Palin is the culmination of our hopes and dreams for these past 232 years. God himself has blessed us with dear Sarah the wise. May her beauty, wisdom and thoughtfulness enable this great nation to once again reclaim it's rightful place as the leader of the earth. Sarah will lead us to victory over the evil doers, the Islamofacists, as we convert the entire world to Christianity in time for the Rapture. O dear God, let your blessed Sarah vanquish the evil Obami to hell. Amen.

In 1960, Barack Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, became pregnant by Barack Sr. On February 2, 1961, 3 months pregnant with the future president and at the age of 18, she married Barack Sr. Because he was Muslim, he had already been married in Kenya to another woman, Kezia, who apparently gave him permission to marry Ann Dunham (not uncommon because Islam permits up to 4 wives legally but in Obama's father custom, a second wife is permitted).

Just six months later, on August 4, 1961, Barack Obama Jr. was born.

The marriage was initially opposed to by both the president's parents and the parents of Barack Sr.

I post this to let everyone know that of all the demonization of Sarah and her family, the president himself was born out of even more "controversial" circumstances.

Wikipedia documents this in full and you can read it here:
