Should be an interesting day no doubt... lots of YouTube worthy nuttery on display. I mean, the leader of the GOP will be there, and that Rush will certainly not fail to deliver some sputtering bluster. Maybe some pills will pop out?!
Only problem: it's like scanning a roster of mental illness attendees. I mean, the "lovely" Ann Coulter, Rick Santorum, Sarah Palin. Where's George "Macaca" Allen?
The Democratic Party couldn't have picked a better line-up to put a contemporary face on the GOP. Creationists. Gun fetishists. Foul-mouthed, drug-addled, thrice-married guardians of moral virtue. Gay bashers. Anti-tax fixationists. Torture lovers. Anti-immigrant, closet racists. Tongue-speaking, snake-charming, end-of-timers. Semi-literate survivalists. Anti-environment, whale-hunting, oil worshippers. Should be quite a show. Where's Joe the Plumber?
LOL! Wow jegan -- that was an awesome takedown. I think I'll save it for future reference.
In 1960, Barack Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, became pregnant by Barack Sr. On February 2, 1961, 3 months pregnant with the future president and at the age of 18, she married Barack Sr. Because he was Muslim, he had already been married in Kenya to another woman, Kezia, who apparently gave him permission to marry Ann Dunham (not uncommon because Islam permits up to 4 wives legally but in Obama's father custom, a second wife is permitted).
Just six months later, on August 4, 1961, Barack Obama Jr. was born.
The marriage was initially opposed to by both the president's parents and the parents of Barack Sr.
I post this to let everyone know that of all the demonization of Sarah and her family, the president himself was born out of even more "controversial" circumstances.
Wikipedia documents this in full and you can read it here:
