Life, Taken For Granted

Given that President Obama went out of his way to give pro-life pastors a prominent place at his inauguration, aren't the demands of those who want Notre Dame to rescind its commencement invitation to Obama a little.... well... of course they're predictable...but mostly... uncivil?  Also: aren't both side of the abortion debate more mature than this now? Shouldn't pro-lifers want as much contact with Obama as possible?

I've seen enough of this... discussion... to give me pause, and I have a theory. Even with a supportive Congress, the Bush administration didn't deliver on the anti-abortion agenda. In order to justify their continued support for Bush, anti-abortion folks had to pour disproportionate enthusiasm in to what he did do on that front, and now they're faced with a choice - either admit that they've been had, or blame Obama. It would appear that the more vocal elements have decided on that second option.
