The GOP Alternative

After being hammered by Democrats for not releasing a budget alternative of their own, House Republicans today released their "Road to Recovery" budget document today. At 19 pages (Obama's was 142), it reads more like a manifesto than a line-by-line refutation of Obama. Its goals: lower spending, lower taxes on individuals and businesses, end bailouts, and control the national debt.

And how many numbers in that document?

I've heard zero. But that can't be right.

The only numbers are numbers from the CBO and numbers from Obama's budget outline/proposal. There are no numbers related to what the GOP is proposing. But that's understandable because it's not even clear what they are proposing. The only section that has something even resembling detail is - surprise - the section on taxes where they propose a 10% income tax rate on incomes below $100K and a 25% rate on incomes above $100K. Yeah, that'll work.
