Today, we learned that the Obama administration's stance on state secrets legislation is forthcoming; Tom Daschle and Bob Dole introduced a health care "compromise"; the White House granted some benefits to domestic partners of gay federal employees; and it released a white paper on regulatory reform; Kathleen Sebelius reiterated the pledge of deficit neutral health care reform; and Eric Holder and Sen. Russ Feingold sparred over the legality of warrantless wiretapping.
We also deliberated on the future of financial regulation; stimulus signs; rumors of a subversion of Twitter by Iran's government; a Neocon claim that Obama supports Ahmadinejad; the top Washington insiders on Twitter; the real story on health care costs; what gays want from Obama; and the likelihood of a revolution in Iran.
Tomorrow: President Obama speaks at a Democratic Senatorial Campaign
Committee fundraising dinner in DC; Timothy Geithner testifies before
the House Financial Services Committee on the administration's plan to
reform financial regulations; OMB Director Peter Orszag testifies
before the House Budget Committee on Pay-Go budgetary rules and before
the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee on the
regulatory reform plan.
