Trouble For Jones

At his daily press briefing Friday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said of the embattled green jobs czar Van Jones only that "he continues to work for the administration." Meanwhile, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), a potential White House hopeful for 2012, is calling on Jones to resign.

Jones is under heavy fire from the right for several things: a video surfaced of him saying in February (before he joined the administration) that Republicans are "assholes," for which he has apologized; it came to light that in 2004 he signed onto a petition calling for an investigation into whether Bush administration officials "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war," a sentiment he has disavowed; and, Friday morning, ABC's Jake Tapper reported that Jones was on the "organizing committee" of a 2002 march in San Francisco calling for a congressional inquiry into 9/11.

And, he's being used as campaign fodder by California GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner, who sent out a web ad with footage of opponent Meg Whitman saying complimentary things about Jones...and spoofing The Love Boat.

If Pence is any indication--and, as a prominent GOP legislator with potential 2012 aspirations, he might be--other GOP politicians may well come out swinging with calls for Jones to resign soon. With little protection from the White House, it could spell serious trouble.

Repugs must be denied any victory no matter how small as punishment for not accepting their LOSER status after the last election. If Repugs won't fire Senator Ensign for whoremastering and adultery, they have no right to ask for anybody in the other party to be fired for calling them A-holes. Sarah Palin committed ADULTERY says the same National Enquirer people who proved it about DEM John Edwards -- Nat-Enq doesn't care which party they expose and are not biased either way. If Palin's adultery is OK with repugs then they can just shut their immoral mouths. What about ADULTERER governor Sanford who flies by tax-paid air taxi to his dentist appointment or picnics? Senator ADULTERER Vitter from Louisiana -- How was he different from resigned disgraced DEM governor of NY Spitzer? Moralists, Go Cheney Yourselves, Torturers.

I have it on good authority that the prior commenter, Know1, is actually Paul Krugman. I didn't believe it at first, because the comment is more emotionally restrained, and more logically coherent, than the typical Krugman column.

I really don't know who this Jones guy is or what he does, and I thought BHO should dump him, but I changed my mind when I saw this above:

"Jones is under heavy fire from the right for several things: a video surfaced of him saying...that Republicans are 'assholes.'"

Zokar:
You are clearly CRAZY. Krugman is too busy committing ADULTERY and praising DEMONS to be the writer. If DEMONS can forget about the SINS of John Edwards, Bill Clinton and Teddy Kennedy they are surely not the first to cast the first stone. The National Enquirer is investigating the writer and reports the writer is really Joe Biden. Nat-Enq doesn't care which writer they expose and are not biased either way. If Edwards adultery and love child is OK with DEMONS they can just get back to voting to solve the health care needs of the unborn generations that are not brought to term. May a special prosecutor be brought in to investigate your immoral speculations and misleading posts. I am sure you are one of those Americans with a greater than $250,000 annual income who will provide the funds for our saintly, untaxed MAJORITY to pay the wardens a LIVING WAGE for Cheney's wardens. Satirists, Go Michael Jackson Yourselves, Drug Addicts.

Your "Demons" call is a foolish howl, "but you're never gonna make it with anyone any how......it's gonna be....... alright".

The unborn? Your problem is with a 35 year-old amendment, not a political party, dude.

Zokar (if indeed, that is your name), I thought your comment was funny. We could use more good humor when discussing these weighty matters, and less of what followed. Maybe the new health plan will allow for compulsory anger management classes when some of these uglies rear their heads....Not to name names, NYObserver.

JoeCoffee (which I am inclined to believe is an alias):
I actually thought Zokar's comment was funny too, I think we may both have been poking fun at poor Know1. Zokar was probably commenting on the CONTENT, I was more impressed with the writing STYLE. I will, however, keep an eye out for the anger management option when the new health care materials arrive. Meanwhile, keep on smiling.

That was funny

Zokar, I love where you went with that...

That was funny.

And once again, Chris Good carries the flag for the nation's assholes.

If the Admin fires Van Jones over this rubbish, they can cross the environmentalists off their Christmas card list.

NYOBSERVER I had a brief relationship with a woman who couldn't keep her hands off the Caps key. The sweetest honey in person, in bed, in life, yet a subcutaneous vitriol of anger waiting to explode. It did. Two months later with her next man. Did you notice your's.....
CRAZY ADULTERY DEMONS DEMONS SINS DEMONS MAJORITY

LIVING WAGE CONTENT STYLE.

MIT WIZARD:

Man, people read such deep thoughts into these posts - must be that crit lit course for freshman in Cambridge. Did you notice the Know1 affinity for CAPS? I certainly did, and I am sure that Zokar did too. Amazing how hot button words (whether from the left or right) are used in a supposedly meaningful way when, as Zokar made clear in an elegant - but pointed - riposte, we would all benefit from emotionally restrained, logically coherent commentary such as from Paul Krugman.

Mike Pence? Are you kidding? He's dumber than a bag of hammers. He's dumber than Sarah Palin. http://yglesias.thinkprogress.org/archives/tag/mike_pence

jct405 (Replying to: blogenfreude)

Dumber than Sarah Palin?!

Being a 9/11 Truther is pretty bad. They're like the Birthers. Except the conservatives are being a little hypocritical. Birther hero, Philip Berg, was a Truther as well, and that didn't seem to bother conservatives.

Despite the weirdness of Jones being a Truther, I don't think he should resign. It would just look like Obama was caving in to Glenn Beck and the extreme right. Too bad Van Jones didn't call Glenn Beck an asshole.

Obama is getting the major Clinton treatment - "vast right wing conspiracy." It is happening and will continue to happen. The right wingers are like harpies. They think they're the rightful heirs to power in this country. They need desperately to be put in their place. Obama and the Dems rising from the ashes could do the trick.

slag (Replying to: TycheSD)

Except that he's not really a truther. Unless, by "truther", we mean someone who wanted an investigation into September 11th. Which included much of the US at the time, including many of the September 11th families, if you recall.

Not that Chris Good would be so kind as to tell us that, of course.

NYOBSERVER That's not Krugman. And Know1 just has a fetish for the word, 'ADULTERY'. People read deep thoughts, uh, when reading you? Sounds like a version of "I was misquoted, I was takenn out of context, I was...

MIT Wizard:
"Thats not Krugman"
"I was misquoted?"
So you really think Zokar believes that Know1 is Paul Krugman, and you are setting the record straight that he is misinformed? You obviously missed the "Satire" reference in my response. Might he not have been commenting on the lack of emotional restraint and logical coherency of Know1 (perhaps with a little dig at Krugman's style?). Perhaps Zokar will read these posts and let us know.

P.S. Had there been an internet when Jonathan Swift wrote "A Modest Proposal" I am sure you would have made sure the community knew that he really meant that Scottish children and not Irish children should be eaten.

What are you all talking about? Jones? i dont think so.. Jones founded STORM and you can read it here ... http://www.capitalresearch.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/stormsummation.pdf

After reviewing this and then seeing the other videos on this guy... Theres no doubt that this guy dosnt belong in America let alone in the white house.

Second.. The Obama czars are proving to be of a radical group as a whole, and that these type of "appointments" should be held to approval of the congress. Especailly after seeing who all has been given positions in our goverment without "The peoples" vote to that positions.

jct405 (Replying to: Badforu)

Wrong. Who are you to pronounce someone else does not belong in America?

And you point the finger of radicalism?

Take a hike.

Badforu (Replying to: jct405)

You sound like the rest... oh let them be.. it will be ok, but when you wake up tomorrow and your looking around asking what happened, you will understand it in hindsight.

And your right .. one of the biggest problem with this is that THESE people DONT consider themselves American. Not at all.. So why should they be in America?

And what is the use of this person. Do most black people think like this guy? is that what your trying to say? Does the "white man" owe you something?

Zokar, NYObserver, MITWizard, et al.

The way I see it, the first satirical post in this string was from Know1. My guess is that's the way Zokar and JoeCoffee figured it, too, and they were just playing along.

Of course by now we're all probably totally confused.

After searching, i can not verify that Van Jones is a Graduate from Yale(1993), and i cant find him as a member to any state bar. I also read that his name isnt "Van Jones". All of this is unverifiable with what i have at hand.

jct405 (Replying to: Badforu)

Right.

And you had better check his birth certificate.

His Snark Materials

But...but Republicans *are* assholes. What's the problem?

My sentiments exactly.

oh yeah jct405, i bet i could pass the test alot better then he could. Or are you gonna kick in affirmative action on that too?

Im not really that hot on his Birth Certificate. I understand what they are saying, but the proof of that is pretty far off, and is easy to manufacture.

On Obamas election i do have a few problems. First off Obama in his own book told of his drug use. Heavey drug use. Up till Obama, this was a disqualifing point for any one seeking political office.

Secondly, Obamas assoiciation with soooooo many criminal and radical elements in his past. It was suprising that nothing was said on that beyond the light acknowledgment that he did know them, and associated at with them. But went no futher.

So now with these Advisor/Czars being found to be unqualified to be in the White House by the citizens of America, now i think is the time to impose some safeguards to the check and balances that our country is built on.

Well, a lot of comment and debate that from my point of view was totally predictable, infantile and off point. At lease we can close this discussion since the deed is done and the administration no longer has to answer for this individual. Now let's get back to serious, meaningful conversation.

His resignation answers no questions. Why was he in the White House! Sad when we get no info on anything anymore. :(

Its good we prevailed in this. And the only thing this did was to wake the Sleeping Giant!!

This stuff didnt work in Honduras earlier this year, when Obama and "others" wieghed in to get the "President" reinstated with threats of Sanctions. And it wont work here.!!! The disthroned President of Honduras was a Chavez fan too.. just like our Media CZAR.
