Ailes For President

Evidently some of Fox News President Roger Ailes' friends want to take the White House vs. Fox confrontation a step further...and are encouraging Ailes to run for president of the United States in 2012, according to Politico's Mike Allen. As unlikely as this sounds, it would be interesting to see how it would work. How would the massive news agency and its opinion programs interact with an Ailes campaign? And what if he said something Glenn Beck didn't like? Perhaps, one day, we'll find out.

"Fox News is a right-leaning, legitimate news organization, and not 'a wing of the Republican party,'" right guys?

How would the massive news agency and its opinion programs interact with an Ailes campaign?
The same way they interacted with and coordinated with the Bush and McCain campaigns.
And what if he said something Glenn Beck didn't like?
Recall that criticisms of McCain from the right conveniently dried up once the primary was over; the GOP is good at holding their fire and supporting the lesser of evils; characters at Fox are good at that as well.

Here's Newt Gingrich joining Hannity in dissing McCain in 2008: http://hotair.com/archives/2008/01/30/newt-gingrich-and-sean-hannity-weigh-their-mccain-options/

Someone branded a RINO might have trouble winning the 2012 primary, but if it comes down to them or a fundamentalist like in 2008, the RINO will win, and his sins will be temporarily forgiven.

And what if he said something Glenn Beck didn't like?

Heh, good one. That's like asking what would happen if a ventriloquist said something his dummy didn't like.

Don't waste your breath. It'll never happen. That's an extrodinary pay cut for Ailes. Plus, no one would vote for him and I think he knows that. This talk about him running for president is probably just a ploy to get the lefties all worked up, and give Fox News even more free publicity. Not like they need it with the White House doing it so well. It's funny how people talk about this strategy like it will actually influence anything Fox News does or anybody who watches Fox News. It's a huge waste of time and tax payer dollars. I'm sick of paying the salaries of government officials who attack private citizens. Remember, they work for us, we don't work for them.

What a dumbass meme. Surely we can all envision Roger Ailes going door to frozen door kissing babies and pressing flesh in rural Iowa and New Hampshire in January...
