Democrats had a good lighthearted chuckle when Republicans started calling for Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) to apologize after he suggested that the GOP health care plan was for Americans "to die quickly." Things got a little weirder when he launched a website called Names of the Dead to list Americans who've died because they don't have health insurance--a noble goal in progressive eyes...but sounds like a zombie movie. Now, he's really done it: in a month-old radio interview that's now making the rounds, he calls Linda Robertson, an advisor to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, a "K Street whore." This one will probably stick.

I don't get it. Why is this worse?
A whore is simply someone who sells out their principles for money.
Just because she's a woman you're assuming that he meant the other definition of whore.
That's a bit sexist on your part, no?
I agree that calling a Washington insider a "whore" is an insult to prostitutes everywhere - but apart from this, how is the quote markedly more offensive than any of Grayson's other zingers?
I've criticized Grayson and he seems like quite the tool. However, one wonders how much of the criticism of him is planted by certain people; this May 2009 video of him questioning the Federal Reserve Inspector Genera has over a million views on Youtube. Think that might have something to do with his antics being broadcast far and wide?
Hopefully Senator Vetters will step forward with a rehash of JFK/Quayle line:
"I know whores, I've employed whores, whores are good friends of mine, and Linda Robinson is no whore."
Look, if it were Larry Robertson he called a K Street Whore - no one would care. Lobbyists, by role and function, are whores. Gender is indifferent.
And I don't even like Grayson.
